In recent history, fake news has plagued our media, now as prevalent as ever but the fact is that throughout history, people have used different types of fake news. Fake news is used to target a marginalized group, to create an enemy, and to benefit specific groups. Many will use these tactics to be able to have people view the group how they want people to view them in.

The earliest signs of fake news is during  the Roman Empire when Agustice used misinformation to be able to spread misinform the public about his opponent Marc Antony.

1933 A.D - 1945 A.D

The next major instance of this fake news is during World War 2 and into the cold war Stalin the ruler of the former USSR used this to be able to delegitimize the Western countries and there spread of Capitalism.

The next major instance of this fake news is during World War 2 and into the cold war. Stalin the ruler of the former USSR used propaganda to be able to delegitimize Western countries and their ideas of Capitalism from the USSR and their Communist puppet states.

US 2016 ELECTIONS

2016 AD

In the 2016 US election race between Republican candidate Donald Trump and Democrat candidate Hillery Clinton, out of the many fake news during this time there was one that claimed that Hillery Clinton engaged in illegal child trafficking ring.
