Does the domain look credible, or does it look fishy?
.gov, .edu, .mil, and .org are more credible than websites that end in .com, .net, and many others.
INVESTIGATE THE AUTHOR

Do some research on the author to see if there they have made previous credible news articles
Is there an about me on the site dedicated towards the author?
CHECK BIAS

Does the site have a history of being left or right
Does the website have a strong religious influence on its page?
Does the website as a whole appeal towards you or towards a certain targeted group?
INVESTIGATE THE SITE

Does the site have a history reporting credible articles?
Does the wite have a dedicated about use page?
CHECK PUNCTUATION

Are there a lot of grammar errors?
Is there use of ALL CAPS to emphasize DRAMATIZATION?!?
ASK THE EXPERTS

Ask a librarian or someone who is knowledgable in the field that you are looking at.

SUPPORTING SOURCES

Are there other credible news sources that are reporting the same story?
IS IT BELIEVABLE

Are the facts that are being reported too outlandish?
Is the article a form of satire?
